Lady Purples open season with 10-0 win over Warren East

Bowling Green’s girls’ soccer team opened its season with a 10-0 road win over District 14 rival Warren East on Tuesday.
Caroline Buchanan and Whitaker Buchanan each tallied a hat trick in the victory for the Lady Purples, who ended the game after 48 minutes with their 10th goal.

Ava Priest and Katie Moore added goals for Bowling Green (1-0 overall and district), which hosts Henderson County at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Warren East (1-1, 0-1) hosts Breckinridge County at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Logan County 2, Glasgow 1
Abigail Lindsey scored a goal and tallied an assist to lead host Logan County to a 2-1 girls’ soccer win Tuesday over Glasgow.
Hannah Goss had a goal and Brianna Loden added an assist for Logan County (2-0), which is back in action Aug. 22 at Christian County.
Glasgow (0-1) is at Barren County on Thursday. Game time is 7 p.m.

Visiting Butler County picked up a 2-1 girls’ soccer win Tuesday over McLean County.
Dixie Garnier and Kierra Neighbors scored goals for the Lady Bears. Michelle Cardwell added an assist.
Butler County (1-0) is back in action Thursday at Todd County Central. Game time is 6 p.m.

Hart County 2
The Trojans won their season opener Tuesday night at home against Hart County.
Bryce Martin, Kolton Miller, Seth Mitchell and Hunter Stephens all had goals for Barren County. Martin also had two assists.
