Lady Raiders’ Gardner fans 17 in 10-0 softball win

Warren East sophomore pitcher Katie Gardner struck out 17 of 18 batters faced and equaled the Lady Raiders’ career wins record with 51 in Thursday’s 10-0, six-inning win over Logan County at the WKU Softball Complex.

Gardner gave up one hit, a bloop single, and one fly ball out in the victory.

Warren East improved to 17-4 with the victory.

Logan County fell to 11-10 this season.

Franklin-Simpson 2

Host Allen County-Scottsville rolled to an 18-2 softball win in six innings over Franklin-Simpson on Thursday at the WKU Softball Complex.

Kalee Skaggs had three hits, including a double, scored two runs and drove in two to pace the Lady Patriots. Taylor Stamps added five RBIs in a 2-for-5 day, Jordan Anderson had two hits and an RBI, and Jaylee Woods had two hits and two RBIs for ACS (14-11).

Franklin-Simpson dropped to 14-13.

Baseball

Logan County 9,

Butler County 2

Jack Wright and Third Bell collected three hits each to lead visiting Logan County to a 9-2 baseball win over Butler County on Thursday.

Bell finished with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, and Wright had a double, three runs scored and an RBI.

Also for the Cougars, Jackson Campbell had a double and three RBIs, and Kaleb Justice homered and drove in two runs.

D.J. Beard got the win for Logan County (20-7), allowing one unearned run off five hits and a walk with 10 strikeouts in six innings.

Butler County fell to 12-11.
