Cries of socialism getting to be tired reading

Another letter from Tim Hulsey.
Same stale insults, slurs and innuendos – he can probably recite these lines in his sleep: Obama’s socialist, he acts like a dictator. Sounds very similar to some of Mr. Herrin’s or Rev. Britt’s diatribes. But alas, Mr. Husley and his ilk didn’t originate the “he’s a Socialist” idea. It’s really old and getting old!

Oh yeah, we’ve been here before 1932. That other socialist guy, FDR. The one that put Americans back to work with the Works Progress Administration and The Civilian Conservation Corps. He then created Social Security, which decades later is the only retirement income of countless Americans.
Ignorant people forecast doom, yet recovery came and the middle class proposed.
What followed through the years were more silly policies from the Democrats: 40-hour work weeks, minimum wage laws and the Family Medical Leave Act. Republicans opposed these as a hindrance to the ability of companies to do business. (Gotta take care of those corporations.)
Republicans still claim to be for the working man, yet their main idea is to break up unions. Those who push for right-to-work laws are no friend of workers (Rand Paul and Jim DeCesare). Wages, benefits and working conditions have been shown to decline when right-to-work laws are passed.
The gridlock in Congress coincidentally heightened in 2010 when the Tea Party hijacked the GOP. Anyone in thier ranks who dares work with the Democrats are chastised or threatened.
Compromise and therefore governing is no longer possible.
