A Dunmor couple was indicted Wednesday on charges of taking thousands of dollars in property from Business Software Alliance.

Eric and Nancy Stevenson are alleged to have made bootleg copies of software copyrighted by Business Software Alliance and sold it in online auctions from September 2001 to February 2002, said Detective Forest Winchester of the Kentucky State Police in Bowling Green.

Eric Stevenson, 37, is facing 119 counts of theft by unlawful taking of property valued over $300. Nancy Stevenson, 39, was indicted on 82 counts of theft over $300. Bond for both has been set at $50,000 cash.

The FBI would typically handle these types of cases of copyright infringement, but in this case Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris Cohron wanted the case to remain in state court, Winchester said.

Many different types of software were being sold by the couple, he said.

Bidders would receive a $600 piece of software for $12, Winchester said.

&#8220It would come in a clear plastic case with no writing on it but it was a fully functional program,” he said.
