APSU’s Woodward has strong showing in hometown meet

Austin Peay junior Sarah-Emily Woodward (Bowling Green Class of 2014) enjoyed a solid showing in her hometown this past weekend in the Hilltopper relays hosted by Western Kentucky.

Woodward finished sixth in the women’s 3,000-meter run with a time of 11 minutes, 5.52 seconds.

Northern Kentucky junior Keith Prive (Greenwood Class of 2014) earned a 14-place finish in the men’s 3,000 meters (9:26.25) and was 21st in the 1,500 meters (4:13.34).

Kentucky Wesleyan freshman Taleia Mason (Logan County Class of 2016) was 33rd in the 100 meters (13.02 seconds) and 51st in the 200 meters (27.31).

Austin Peay and Kentucky Wesleyan return to action April 14 for the Austin Peay Govenors Invitational. 

Northern Kentucky is back in action April 14 at the Mount Sac Relays in Torrance, Calif.

Campbellsville senior Clayton Embry (Butler County Class of 2012) tallied a third-place finish in the men’s hammer throw at this past weekend’s University of the Cumberlands Invitational.

Embry finished with a throw of 45.28 meters.

Campbellsville freshman Savannah Gregory (Allen County-Scottsville Class of 2016) grabbed a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter run (1:00.55), plus ran legs on the Tigers’ fourth-place 1,600 relay (4:11.98) and fifth-place 400 relay (51.18).

Campbellsville freshman Lauren Burnett (Logan County Class of 2016) scored a fifth-place finish in the women’s discus with a toss of 33.92 meters.

Campbellsville’s Ross Allen (South Warren Class of 2014) scored a sixth-place finish in the 10,000 meters (35:53.60), and Tigers freshman Nick Mabe (Barren County Class of 2016) was seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.84 meters. Also for Campbellsville, Deja Thompson (Logan County Class of 2014) finishes seventh in the women’s hammer throw with a distance of 40.39 meters.

Lindsey Wilson’s Trajon Hall (Bowling Green Class of 2016) ran a leg on the Blue Raiders’ fourth-place 3,200 relay (8:12.08).

Berea’s Megan Hale (Allen County-Scottsville Class of 2013) finished ninth in the women’s 800 (2:29.17) and ran a leg on Berea’s third-place 1,600 relay (4:11.98).

Transylvania’s Gunnar Eaton (Barren County Class of 2016) finished eighth in the men’s javelin with a toss of 45.44 meters.

Berea, Campbellsville and Transylvania are back in action April 14 at the Centre College Twilight Meet.

Lindsey Wilson next competes April 14 in the Austin Peay Governors Invitational.

Kenyon College freshman Reed Crocker (Bowling Green Class of 2016) turned in a scoring finish at Saturday’s Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Crocker scored a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 11.25 inches.

Kenyon is back in action April 15 in the All-Ohio Championship at Ohio Wesleyan.

Benedict College (S.C.) sophomore Sydnie Anthony (Bowling Green Class of 2014) ran a leg in her team’s sixth-place finish in the women’s 400-meter relay at this weekend’s Johnson C. Smith Invitational track and field meet.

Benedict’s relay finished in 50.52 seconds.

Anthony also turned in a ninth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.15 meters.

Benedict is back in action April 15 at South Carolina.

Memphis junior Lauren Wheeler (Bowling Green Class of 2014) recorded a 26th-place finish in the women’s 1,500-meter run in this past weekend’s Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Wheeler finished the race in 4:52.03.

Memphis is back in action April 21 in the Red Wolves Open in Jonesboro, Ark.
