Bowling Green woman receives education award

University of the Cumberlands recently gave Bethany Bargo Heming of Bowling Green the Middle School Education Award during Honors Day.
Each year, the undergraduate education department recognizes students for excellence in the areas of elementary, middle school, secondary and special education certification.
Heming’s major is middle school education with specializations in mathematics and social studies. She achieved a near perfect overall grade point average and will be graduating summa cum laude. She has been on the Dean’s List and President’s List and is a member of the J.T. Vallandingham Honor Society, Who’s Who Among University and College Students and the recipient of the Gorman Jones Scholarship in 2012.
Heming is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society and served as secretary of Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society. She also was a UC cheerleader.
Heming volunteers her time with the Barbourville Young Women Study Club and helps with the Locust Grove Baptist Church Acteen Group.
She is the wife of Jeremy Heming and the daughter of Timothy and Regina Bargo.
