Raiders crush visiting district rival Calloway County, 68-0

Host Warren East rolled up 416 yards of total offense in Friday night’s 68-0 shutout victory against Calloway County in a Class 4A, District 1 football matchup.
Raiders quarterback Dane Parsley was 8 of 10 passing for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Backup QB Brandon McCluskey was 3 of 4 passing for 62 yards and two more TDs.
Warren East running back Jackson McCool tallied 95 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and Romario Johnson added 41 rushing yards and a score.
Brayden Lightfoot led East’s receivers with two catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Julian Wright added a 46-yard TD reception, Logan Boyer and Azzarrious Douglas each tallied a touchdown reception in the win.
Defensively, Levi Faulkner led the Raiders with 11 tackles and Sam Tunks had eight stops. McCool tallied an interception and Jaydon Richey had a fumble recovery.
Warren East (4-1, 2-0 district) visits Hopkinsville on Saturday for another district game.
Bowling Green 56, Central Hardin 2
Bowling Green quarterback Deuce Bailey was 13 of 19 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the Purples’ 56-2 road win at Central Hardin on Friday.
Bailey also ran for 25 yards and a touchdown for Bowling Green (4-1).
Jaxen Smith tallied four catches for 46 yards, Hudson Nottmeier hauled in a 48-yard TD reception, and Montravion Graham and Trevy Barber each had a touchdown catch in the win.
Nick Graham, Drian Bunton and Smith each scored a rushing touchdown for the Purples.
On defense, AJ Woodward had a pick-six interception return for a touchdown, Malik Coburn finished with eight tackles – including 3.5 tackles for loss – and Logan Johnson finished with eight tackles.
Bowling Green is home this coming Friday against Class 5A, District 2 foe Ohio County.
Barren County 23, Glasgow 7
Barren County quarterback Tate Spillman scored a pair of short rushing touchdowns and the Trojans put up a solid defensive effort to beat visiting crosstown rival Glasgow 23-7 on Friday.
Daylan Thomas got the scoring started for Barren County (5-0) with a 20-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Down 15-0 at halftime, Glasgow (3-2) rallied with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Hudson Gumm to Jerrick Martin in the third quarter.
Spillman’s second touchdown run of the night from a yard out and a two-point conversion run by Briggs Harris closed out the scoring with 6:43 left in the game.
Max Lee led Glasgow with 12 tackles and a sack. The Scotties host Class 3A, District 2 foe Adair County this coming Friday.
Barren County is on the road this coming Friday against Green County.
ACS 41, Logan County 22
Allen County-Scottsville quarterback Braylon Adams passed for a pair of touchdowns and ran for another as the host Patriots topped Class 4A, District 1 rival Logan County 41-22 on Friday.
Adams opened the scoring with a 66-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Logan County (2-3, 0-1) knotted the score at 7 with a second-quarter touchdown, but ACS running back Chase Ross put the Pats up for good with a 21-yard touchdown run with 1:46 left in the first half, and a Cougars fumble set up an Adams to Tyler Turner touchdown strike with just 17 seconds left before the break.
Jax Coffey added a TD catch from Adams, then Ross scored two more rushing touchdowns as the Pats stretched the lead to 41-7 before the Cougars scored a pair of fourth-quarter TDs.
Logan County is on the road at district foe Calloway County this coming Friday.
ACS (5-0, 1-0) stays home to take on district rival Paducah Tilghman this coming Friday.
Edmonson County 48, Ohio County 14
Carter Swihart ran for three touchdowns to pace visiting Edmonson County to a 48-14 win against Ohio County on Friday night.
The Wildcats opened the scoring with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Tristen Muse to Will Saling, then Swihart struck for a 7-yard touchdown run.
Swihart added TD runs of 34 yards and 13 yards as Edmonson County (3-2) stretched out a 21-14 halftime lead.
Blayne DeWeese tallied a 33-yard touchdown run and Colton White had scoring runs of 11 and 56 yards in the win.
Edmonson County is home this coming Friday against Clinton County.
Franklin-Simpson 35, Russellville 20
Visiting Franklin-Simpson pulled out a road win in a spirited matchup against Russellville on Friday.
Leading just 21-20 with 1:55 left in the first half, the visiting Wildcats got a solid kickoff return to set up a touchdown with just 25 seconds left in the second quarter to take a 28-20 lead into halftime.
A 3-yard touchdown run by Ayden Jones boosted that lead in the third quarter and ended the scoring.
Russellville (1-4) opened the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run by Octavious McKeage in the first quarter, but the Wildcats answered in less than a minute with a Layne Alford 42-yard touchdown run.
The Panthers pushed back ahead in the second quarter on Hunter Hallman’s 13-yard touchdown pass to McKeage, but the Panters responded with a 74-yard touchdown pass from Brady Delk to Colin Anderson to knot the score at 14-all.
Alford’s 6-yard TD run pushed the Wildcats ahead 21-14, but Russellville answered with a 51-yard touchdown strike from Hallman to JaCoveon Temple-Dickerson – the Panthers missed the point-after attempt, and the Wildcats came right back with a touchdown just before halftime.
Franklin-Simpson (3-2) hosts Class 3A, District 2 foe Butler County this coming Friday.
Russellville is on the road at Todd County Central this coming Friday.
