BG boys, ACS girls stay No. 1 in area Top 10 polls

The Bowling Green boys’ and Allen County-Scottsville girls’ basketball teams remained No. 1 in the latest Bowling Green Daily News Area Top 10 polls.
Bowling Green earned six of eight first-place votes to remain first. Monroe County, which beat Warren Central on Monday for the first time since 1989, remained second – garnering the other two first-place votes.
The Dragons held at third, with Clinton County fourth and Logan County fifth.
Barren County was sixth, with Allen County-Scottsville and Russell County tied for seventh. South Warren and Warren East rounded out the boys’ poll.
On the girls’ side, Allen County-Scottsville was a unanimous No. 1 while South Warren moved up a spot to second.
Glasgow was third with Bowling Green fourth and Clinton County, the only remaining unbeaten in the area on either side, fifth. Warren Central, Monroe County, Greenwood, Logan County and Russell County rounded out the girls’ poll.
The voting panel includes Daily News sports writers Chad Bishop and Micheal Compton; Daily News Assistant Sports Editor Zach Greenwell; Daily News Sports Editor Rob Herbst; Chad Young of WKCT 930 AM in Bowling Green; James Mooneyhan of WFKN 1220 AM in Franklin; Joe Brunk of Purplesnation.com; Jay Turner of WHHT 103.7 FM in Glasgow; Don Meador of The Citizen-Times in Scottsville; Jason Martin of Sporting Times Broadcasting Network; and Joe Myers of WCLU 1490 AM in Glasgow.
Eight voters participated in this week’s poll.
The poll was conducted before Monday’s games.
