Fant’s TD pass highlights day for Hilltoppers
Western Kentucky senior wide receiver Nacarius Fant (Bowling Green Class of 2014) produced a highlight-reel moment in the Hilltoppers’ 31-17 loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday in Nashville.
Fant pulled off a successful trick play when he caught a lateral before firing a pass downfield to teammate Quinton Baker for a 25-yard touchdown play. That first-quarter pulled the Hilltoppers even with Vandy at 7-all.
Fant finished with a team-high nine catches for 79 yards. He also returned one punt.
WKU redshirt sophomore linebacker Ben Holt (Bowling Green Class of 2015) tied for the team high with seven tackles, including five solo stops.
Hilltoppers redshirt sophomore defensive back Ta’Corian Darden (Russellville Class of 2015) tallied five tackles (four solo) with one pass breakup and 0.5 tackles for loss.
WKU redshirt junior linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe (South Warren Class of 2014) finished with five tackles (three solo).
Western Kentucky (5-4) returns to action Nov. 11 at Conference USA rival Marshall.

Murray State redshirt junior punter Landon Stratton (Logan County Class of 2014) punted the ball a school-record 13 times Saturday for an average of 47.4 yards in a 59-23 loss at Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala.
Stratton had a long punt of 60 yards, just one touchback and pinned the Gamecocks inside their own 20-yard line four times. The 13 punts breaks the previous record set by Matt Garrett against BYU in 1998 and Stratton himself last season against Jax State. Stratton also tallied a tackle for the Racers.
Murray State (2-7, 1-4 Ohio Valley Conference) is back in action Nov. 11 at home against Tennessee Tech.

Centre senior quarterback Devin Hayes (Bowling Green Class of 2014) tossed four touchdown passes in the Colonels’ 47-0 win over Sewanee (Tenn.) on Saturday in Sewanee, Tenn.
Hayes completed 22 of 31 passes for 290 yards and 4 TDs with no interceptions. Hayes also ran for eight yards.
Centre junior running back Colin Burnam (Warren Central Class of 2015) totaled a team-high 94 rushing yards on 16 carries.
Colonels sophomore defensive back Karim Kimble (Glasgow Class of 2016) tallied a pair of solo tackles.
Sewanee senior defensive lineman Clay Thistlethwaite (Glasgow Class of 2014) tallied one tackle.
Centre (8-1, 6-1 Southern Athletic Association) completes its regular season Nov. 11 at home against Birmingham Southern.
Sewanee (3-7, 2-6 SAA) wrapped up its season.

Union (Ky.) junior linebacker Anthony Kelsey (Warren East Class of 2015) tallied a team-high 12 tackles in the Bulldogs’ 43-42 home win over St. Andrews (N.C.) on Saturday in Barbourville.
Kelsey had seven solo stops and two tackles for losses totaling three yards.
Union (4-5, 2-3 Mid-South Conference) is back in action Nov. 11 at home vs. Point (Ga.).

Kentucky Wesleyan sophomore wide receiver Jacob Yates (Bowling Green Class of 2016) finished with three catches for 28 yards in Saturday’s 63-7 road loss to Ohio Dominican in Columbus, Ohio.
KWC freshman wideout Chauncey Greer (Warren East Class of 2017) added two catches for 15 yards and had one punt return. Panthers freshman Dessi Austin (Glasgow Class of 2017) added one rush for two yards.
KWC freshman defensive back Malcolm Johnson (Greenwood Class of 2017) tallied five solo tackles, sophomore Curtis Johnson (Warren Central Class of 2016) had four tackles and freshman defensive back Jonathan Ford (South Warren Class of 2017) finished with two tackles.
Kentucky Wesleyan (2-7, 1-5 Great Midwest Athletic Conference) wraps up its regular season Nov. 11 at home against Alderson-Broaddus (W.Va.).

Indiana State redshirt junior cornerback Rondell Green (Warren Central Class of tallied three tackles (two solo) and forced a fumble in the Sycamores’ 66-24 home loss to Youngstown State on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.
