Harper powers Spalding to baseball sweep of Iowa Wesleyan
Spalding sophomore Matt Harper (Logan County Class of 2015) helped the Golden Eagles sweep a road baseball doubleheader Saturday against St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Iowa Wesleyan.
In Game 1, Harper had a double in Spalding’s 6-1 win. Then in the nightcap, Harper opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the second inning. Harper, starting at second base, was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in the Golden Eagles’ 4-1 win.
Spalding (16-7, 6-1 SLIAC) is back in action April 8 for a doubleheader at Eureka (Ill.).

Cairn (Pa.) sophomore right-hander Sam Dralle (Greenwood Class of 2015) earned the win for the Highlanders in Sunday’s 4-3 baseball victory over visiting Gwynedd Mercy (Pa.)
Dralle started and worked five innings, allowing three earned runs off six hits and two walks. He struck out four to improve his season record to 3-2.
Cairn (11-5, 3-2 Colonial States Athletic Conference) finishes up its series against Gwynedd Mercy on Monday.

Midway junior Barrett Croslin (Russellville Class of 2014) had a solid weekend as the Eagles took three-of-four from visiting River States Conference rival West Virginia Tech over the weekend.
Croslin tallied a 1-for-2 day in Midway’s 2-1 victory on Saturday in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Then on Sunday in the first game of another doubleheader, Croslin cracked a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. He finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and three RBIs as Midway picked up a 4-3 victory. Croslin wrapped up his production for the weekend by scoring a run in Game 2 on Sunday, a 5-4 loss.
Midway (19-14, 16-4 RSS) is back in action Wednesday at Union (Ky.).

Centre senior Trevor Brewer (Greenwood Class of 2013) drove in a pair of runs for the Colonels in Sunday’s 10-9 loss at Oglethorpe (Ga.).
Centre (14-11, 4-8 Southern Athletic Association) is back in action Tuesday at Berea.

Southeastern Illinois sophomore outfielder John Halcomb (Greenwood Class of 2015) totaled four RBIs in a three-game sweep of visiting Frontier (Ill.) Community College.
Halcomb was 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday’s 6-5 win, the first game of a doubleheader. Halcomb drove in another win in his team’s 9-7 win in Game 2, then added two RBIs on Sunday in an 11-4 victory.
Southeastern Illinois (13-13) is back in action Tuesday at Kaskaskia (Ill.).

Campbellsville senior Dexter Cline (Greenwood Class of 2013) worked a scoreless inning of relief in Thursday’s 3-2 loss to visiting Indiana University Southeast.
Campbellsville (19-14) is back in action Wednesday at IU Southeast.

Alabama Huntsville senior outfielder Sarah Jordan (Greenwood Class of 2013) cracked a solo home run in the Chargers’ 13-6 road win over North Alabama on Saturday.
Jordan finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI.
In Thursday’s 12-4 win over Tuskegee, Jordan tallied an RBI when she pinch hit with the bases loaded and drew a walk to force in a run.
Alabama Huntsville (27-10, 15-6 Gulf South Conference) returns to action Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Miles.

Tennessee Martin junior Aeron Smith (Greenwood Class of 2014) drove in a pair of runs to help the visiting Skyhawks salvage a softball doubleheader split on Saturday against SIU Edwardsville.
Smith, in the lineup as the designated player, was 2-for-4 with two RBIs in UT Martin’s 7-3 win in the nightcap.
UT Martin (25-9, 4-2 Ohio Valley Conference) is back in action Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Memphis.

Campbellsville senior Brittany Rippy (Allen County-Scottsville Class of 2013) helped the visiting Tigers sweep a Sunday doubleheader against Cumberlands.
In Game 1, Rippy was 2 for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base as the Tigers earned a 5-2 victory. Then in Campbellsville’s 13-1 win in Game 2, Rippy tallied an RBI and scored a run.
Campbellsville (25-7, 12-0 Mid-South Conference) is back in action Tuesday for a doubleheader at Cumberland (Tenn.).

Georgetown junior outfielder Katie Young (Allen County-Scottsville Class of 2014) tallied five hits in a four-game softball sweep of Cumberland (Tenn.) over the weekend.
Young’s biggest game came in the finale on Sunday, when she was 2-for-4 and scored a run in Georgetown’s 7-0 win.
Georgetown (24-8, 7-3 Mid-South Conference) is back in action Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Shawnee State (Ohio).

Midway junior third baseman Lynsie Clark (Butler County Class of 2014) played a major factor in the Eagles’ solid weekend that included back-to-back home doubleheader softball sweeps over Carlow (Pa.) on Saturday and Point Park (Pa.) on Sunday.
Clark’s big moment came in Sunday’s first game against Point Park, when she hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory.
Midway (12-12, 6-2 River States Conference) is back in action April 7 for a doubleheader at University of Rio Grande (Ohio).

Lindsey Wilson junior third baseman Amy Rogers (Butler County Class of 2014) had a strong weekend at the plate to help the host Blue Raiders sweep a four-game series against Shawnee State (Ohio).
On Friday, Rogers was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and scored a run in Lindsey Wilson’s 7-3 win. In the second game Friday, Rogers added another hit as the Blue Raiders won 11-5.
Rogers hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning in Saturday’s opening game, a 4-2 win for the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson (26-7, 12-0 Mid-South Conference) is back in action April 7 with a doubleheader at University of the Cumberlands.
