Trojanettes reclaim top spot
Fresh off a 59-53 win over Bowling Green, the Barren County Trojanettes returned to the top of the latest Daily News Area Top 10 Girls’ poll.
Barren County held the top spot for all of December before the Lady Purples took over the No. 1 ranking in early January. The Trojanettes picked up four first-place votes, edging the Lady Purples by one point.
Bowling Green, which also received four first-place votes, lost its first game to a Region 4 opponent – South Warren – last Tuesday before falling at Barren County on Monday.
Allen County-Scottsville, which received two first-place votes, is third with Glasgow fourth and Metcalfe County fifth.
South Warren, Russellville, Edmonson County, Logan County and Russell County round out the girls’ poll.
In the boys’ poll, Bowling Green remains the top team with six first-place votes, but Warren Central moves up to second after getting four first-place votes.
Allen County-Scottsville slips a spot to third with Clinton County fourth and Glasgow fifth.
Logan County, Franklin-Simpson, Greenwood, Butler County and Barren County round out the boys’ poll.
