Campbellsville’s Withrow ties for 2nd at Lewis University Intercollegiate
After holding the lead with a first-round 79 on Monday, Campbellsville junior Kylie Withrow (Barren County Class of 2015) slipped slightly in Tuesday’s second round to finish tied for second place at 20-over par 164 in the Lewis University Intercollegiate at Cog Hill Golf Course and Country Club in Lemont, Ill.
Withrow’s first-round 79 was one of only two scores in the 70s all week at Cog Hill, which features over 90 bunkers and has been the host of the PGA Tour’s BMW Championship four separate times.
Withrow shot an 85 in the second round, and finished tied with Lewis University’s Kasey Kane for second. Campbellsville shot a combined 708 to finish third in the six-team field. Host Lewis won with a 683.
Drury’s Leisia Salazar won the individual title with a two-round 163.
Campbellsville returns to action for the Thomas University Classic at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club on Oct. 9-10 in Valdosta, Ga.

Rose-Hulman senior Ashton Foushee (Glasgow Class of 2014) helped the Fightin’ Engineers to a record-setting weekend at the Millikin University Invitational that ended Sunday in Decatur, Ill.
Foushee sank a hole-in-one on the 118-yard 13th hole at Red Tail Run Golf Course on Saturday using an 8-iron, then matched Rose-Hulman’s newly-established single-round school record with a 73 on Sunday. Foushee finished third overall with a 9-over 153.
Rose-Hulman finished with school records for lowest team single round score (313, on Saturday) and lowest 36-round team tournament score (629) to win the six-team tournament by five strokes.
The Fightin’ Engineers are back in action Oct. 14-15 at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships hosted by Transylvania.

Asbury senior setter Rachyl Miller (Logan County Class of 2014) tallied 15 assists in Tuesday’s 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-17) home volleyball victory over River States Conference rival Cincinnati Christian.
Miller also tallied one kill and one dig in the win.
Asbury (10-3 overall, 5-0 conference) hosts fellow River States Conference unbeaten IU Kokomo on Saturday.

Brescia freshman defensive specialist Kailee Moore (Logan County Class of 2017) totaled seven digs, a pair of kills and a block assist in Tuesday’s 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-11) loss at River States Conference rival IU Southeast.
Brescia (12-9, 4-2 River States) is back in action Thursday at Union (Ky.).
