A strip mall on Campbell Lane continues to grow as it anticipates two more stores.
The center where Best Buy is located is expecting a Five Below and a Petco, according to Dawn Raley, city building inspection support specialist. Best Buy spent several months in the strip alone beside a vacancy left by Office Depot when it closed this summer. Party City opened last month in part of the vacated space.

Construction continues for Five Below and Petco, with boarded up areas where doors and windows will be on one of the structures. The structure beside Party City already has glass doors. It’s not clear when the Petco will open or what is the fate of the other Petco in the strip mall that contains Barnes & Noble Booksellers.
Petco is a full service pet supply retailer with 1,000 locations in 50 states.
Five Below is a discount store that sells items for no more than $5. The only other Five Below in Kentucky is in Louisville, according to fivebelow.com. The nearest Five Below is in Clarksville, Tenn.
Lisa Stuart of Russellville said she is looking forward to having a Five Below in Bowling Green because she has shopped at the store in Clarksville and enjoyed it.
“As my family says, I’m the dollar store queen. I don’t necessarily have to buy anything. I just like to look,” Stuart said.
Stuart got to check out Five Below for the first time around Christmas. She said she was surprised at the array of items the store had, including pajamas, toys, exercise gear, T-shirts, electronics and jewelry.

“It was very impressive,” Stuart said.
Five Below also had a lot of name brand items, such as Disney “Frozen” apparel and Kindle covers.
