Heather Renee Strode (Meenach)

BOWLING GREEN – Heather R. Strode, age 52, passed away in Bowling Green, Kentucky on December 31, 2024. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on November 22, 1972. Heather was a graduate of Tates Creek High School. After high school, Heather attended Western Kentucky University.

As a student she participated as a WKU Spirit Master and as a member of the Kappa Delta sorority, ultimately serving as the president of the sorority. After obtaining her Masters, Heather later became an Associate Professor of Communications, while still continuing to serve her sorority as a Kappa Delta Advisor.

Her 34 years at the university as both a student and professor accounts for her great love for Big Red and the love she shared with her students. Heather, was a faithful member of Broadway United Methodist Church Heather’s true calling was as a loving mother and wife to her family. Heather was everything to her boys and husband. The family has an unbreakable bond with each other and Heather was the rock.

She was so loving, caring, and just pure beauty in every way imaginable. Her family will miss her everyday and their love for each other will last until they meet again. Survivors include: Her husband, Ted B. Strode, and their twin boys; Tucker Strode and Tyler Strode; mother Karen (Wolfe) Reynolds and her husband Wayne; her father Victor Meenach; her sister Sonya Wright; her in-laws, her many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members and friends, all of whom will miss her and love her.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 6 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at Broadway United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
