Five are arrested after alleged meth lab found in Edmonson County

Five people were arrested Wednesday in Edmonson County following the discovery of an alleged meth lab.

According to the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations West Branch, state police investigators and members of the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department and Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force discovered a meth lab at 2463 Otter Gap Road.

Arrested were Steven J. Phelps, 27, Jeffrey Darwin Vincent, 20, Michael S. Mason, 31, Melissa A. Brown, 25, and Betty F. Glass, 52.

Phelps, Vincent and Brown were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Phelps was also charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and obscuring the identity of a machine. Vincent was additionally charged with unlawful possession of a meth precursor, and Brown was also charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Glass was charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance and prescription in an improper container, and Mason was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Phelps, Vincent and Mason were lodged in Grayson County Detention Center, while Brown and Glass were taken to Hart County Jail.

Theft — Someone took a 2007 Hyundai Electra from ABC Auto Auction, 535 Greenwood Lane, for a test drive Aug. 20 and failed to return it, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. Losses totaled $10,500.
