BOWLING GREEN — Ellen Gwendolyn Pennington McDaniel, 97, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 24 surrounded by her loving family. The Warren County native was a daughter of the late Albert W. “Welk” and Josephine Clemmons Pennington.

She was the wife of the late Garland Kirby McDaniel and was preceded in death by three sons, Eddie McDaniel, Steve McDaniel and James Earl McDaniel; one granddaughter, Stevie Marie McDaniel and one great great grandson, Crue Gross.

Ellen was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and GiGi also a mother to many She was a member of Meadowland Baptist Church.

Leaving to cherish her memory is four daughters, Bonnie Humphrey (Gerald), Vanessa McDaniel, Peggy Jackson (Robert), Barbara Hastings (Dean); two sons, Donnie McDaniel (Faye) and Phillip McDaniel (Vivian); 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Angle.

Mrs. Ellen’s funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with burial at Plum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
