KSP: Man shot dead by Logan deputy

Kentucky State Police is investigating an incident in Logan County that authorities are describing as an officer-involved shooting.
KSP Post 3 in Bowling Green was contacted shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday about the incident, which took place in Lewisburg.
According to a preliminary investigation, two Logan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Lewisburg-Edwards Road.
During the encounter, a man at the residence was determined by one of the deputies to have an active arrest warrant out against him.
KSP said the man subject to the warrant possessed a firearm that he pointed in the direction of the two deputies at some point during the interaction.
One of the deputies fired their agency-issued firearm and struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, KSP said.
No other injuries were reported.
KSP did not name the deputies involved or disclose the identity of the man who was shot.
