Local counties impacted by Sunday’s severe storms and tornadoes have begun looking ahead to debris pick-up and drop-off for residents.
Here is what is scheduled by location:
Bowling Green
The city of Bowling Green will collect storm debris placed at the curb starting on June 10.
A Tuesday news release stated information about neighborhood-specific timelines will be released in the coming weeks at bgky.org/announcements and the city’s social media.
The city asks residents not to place debris in the street or in drainage ditches and not to place chipped debris at the road. Construction debris or bulk waste will not be collected.
Private contractors hired by residents are responsible for disposing of debris like large limbs, tree trunks, root balls and other vegetation, the release stated.
Warren County
A release from Warren County government stated vegetation cut by a property owner will be picked up by respective sanitation companies and removal of debris on private property is the responsibility of the owner.
“Debris should be stacked neatly beside the garbage cart and should be no longer than 4 feet long and 6″ in diameter,” the release stated. “You must contact your provider directly to schedule pickup and to verify debris size guidelines as those may vary.”
Vegetative debris can be taken to Simply Mulch, 1900 Veterans Memorial Lane and 5710 Scottsville Road, for a small fee.
The release also stated that private contractors are responsible for removing debris if hired and urged residents to ensure contractors are insured before hiring.
Questions can be directed to Warren County Solid Waste Coordinator Lawrence White at 270-843-5353.
Road crews continue to remove debris blocking roadways. The Warren County Road Department can be reached at 270-843-8328.
Allen County & Scottsville
Vegetative debris can be dropped off at the Allen County Transfer Station, 100 Transfer Station Road off of New Glasgow Road Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Drop-off services will continue as-needed with no end date planned currently.
Scottsville residents can utilize regular brush pick-up services by calling ahead to the mayor’s office at (270) 237-3238.
Butler County & Morgantown
Judge-Executive Tim Flener told the Daily News the county is awaiting more information to pursue federal assistance, but expects to meet that threshold by the end of the week.
“I think we’re going to meet (that threshold), but we haven’t just yet,” Flener said.
Residents are free to pursue clean-up and disposal on their own but Flener said there’s “not anything (Butler County) is going to be able to do at this point.”
He advised residents with concerns or questions contact his office at 270-999-1258.
Morgantown residents can utilize the city’s regular brush pick-up services Monday through Friday.
A list of rules and a contact form are available at morgantown-ky.com under “Resident Resources” and “Brush/Leaf Pickup.”
Barren County & Glasgow
Residents will have until June 14 to drop off vegetative debris at 150 County Barn Road between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Logan County & Russellville
Neither the county nor city of Russellville currently have plans for debris pick-up or drop-off sites.
Edmonson County & Brownsville

Simpson County & Franklin
Judge-Executive Mason Barnes stated in an email to the Daily News tree debris can be dropped off at the old soccer complex on Kenneth Utley Drive just before the Convenience Center starting this Friday.
The service will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 31, June 1, June 7 and June 8. Barnes said additional days may be added if needed.
