Barber’s double-double boosts Raiders over Scotties in Kentucky 2A

Warren East senior Ka Jarius Barber posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to boost the host Raiders to a 74-64 boys’ basketball win against Glasgow in the Kentucky 2A, Section 2 tournament on Tuesday.

Kaleb Prince scored a team-high 23 points and pulled down seven rebounds, Brenden Bratcher added 10 points and Dane Parsley finished with nine points and six rebounds.

Warren East (2-0) visits District 15 rival Barren County on Friday.

Glasgow (1-2) hosts Bowling Green on Friday.

Greenwood 64, Russellville 48

Nick Simpson scored 19 points to pace host Greenwood to a 64-48 win against Russellville on Tuesday.

Garrett Hatcher also hit double digits with 12 points, while Jett Hall notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Asher Pettus chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds for the Gators.

Greenwood (1-2) takes on Barbourville on Friday in the Pride of the Mountain Basketball Showcase at Bell County High School.

Eli McMurry scored a game-high 21 points to lead Russellville. Octavious McKeage added 10 points and six rebounds, and Jaylen Byrd added eight points and 11 rebounds for the visiting Panthers.

Russellville (0-4) takes on West Creek (Tenn.) in the Ken-Tenn Classic on Saturday at Calloway County High School.

FCA 45, Hendersonville Christian 32

Logan Nix piled up a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead visiting Foundation Christian Academy to a 45-32 win over Hendersonville Christian Academy (Tenn.) on Tuesday.

William Cummins scored a team-high 21 points for the Falcons in the win.

FCA (3-1) hosts Cloverport on Friday.

Franklin-Simpson 54, Edmonson County 50

Homestanding Franklin-Simpson claimed a 54-50 win against Edmonson County in the Kentucky 2A, Section 2 tournament on Tuesday.

Joshua Decker finished 15 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double to lead Edmonson in the loss. Will Alexander, Tyler Wilson and Kollin Doyle added eight points each.

Edmonson County (2-2) hosts District 12 rival Grayson County on Friday.

Franklin-Simpson (2-1) visits Ohio County on Friday.

Girls

Greenwood 76, Russellville 24

Leia Trinh scored 20 points to lead host Greenwood to a 76-24 win against Russellville on Tuesday.

Avery Overmohle added 12 points, Anzlee Hendrix scored 11 points, and Gracyn Nealon and Savannah White finished with eight points apiece for the Lady Gators.

Greenwood (2-1) takes on Barren County in the State Farm 4th Region Challenge on Saturday at Bowling Green High School.

Russellville (0-3) will face Allen County-Scottsville in the State Farm 4th Region Challenge on Saturday.

Edmonson County 47, Logan County 40, OT

Cariann Williams put together a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lift visiting Edmonson County to a 47-40 overtime win against Logan County in the Kentucky 2A, Section 2 tournament on Tuesday.

Jenna Cook added 13 points and eight rebounds, Kennadi Swihart finished with 10 points, and Shelby Sowders tallied nine points and six rebounds for the Lady Cats in the win.

Edmonson County (4-0) hosts District 12 foe Grayson County on Friday.

Logan County (2-1) will face Clinton County in the State Farm 4th Region Challenge on Saturday at Bowling Green High School.
