Carl L. Rodgers, 75, of Bowling Green, and a native of Scott Haven, Pa., died Aug. 15, 2013, at The Medical Center.

Carl was retired from Great Onyx Job Corp in Mammoth Cave, a graduate of Western Kentucky University, and he also received his Master and Doctor of Divinity degree from Great Commission Theological Seminary. Carl was owner and operator of Rodgers Transportation and Rodgers Taxi Cab Company. He was a member of Lost River Church of Christ. Carl served in the United States Marine Corps.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Early Davis and Helen Brown Rodgers; his wife, Joan Cosby Rodgers; grandson Travis Mann; and his brothers and sisters, Clarence Rodgers, Joe Rodgers, Marian Brown and Geraldine Willis.

Funeral service is at noon Saturday at Lost River Church of Christ, 662 Dishman Lane, Bowling Green, with interment at First Baptist Rockfield Church Cemetery, Rockfield. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Burnam & Son Mortuary, 201 Center St.

Carl is survived by his children, Dwight (Angela) Rodgers, Carla (James) Brown, both of Bowling Green, and Kelvin Smith of Tappahannock, Va.; grandchildren, Chasity, DeSean, Terry, LaTrice, Jalen, Anyzha and Austin; great-grandchildren, Amya, Mirauge, Jada, Monty, Sofia, Izayden and Kyra; a sister, Alice Irene Thomas, Richmond, Va.; in-laws, Robert (Geneva) Cosby, Charles (Peggy) Cosby, Louis Cosby, Waldean Pratt, Charlene (James) Gamble and Evelyn Cosby; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend Marian “Sarge” Davis; and godchildren, Joe (Staci) Lightfoot, Sadie Gambrel and Mayo Makinde.
