Greenwood goalie Ethan Shutt signed to play college soccer at Florida College in Temple Terrace, Fla.
“It’s really exciting,” Shutt said. “I’m looking forward to playing in Florida especially, but also to be able to keep playing. This relieves so much stress.”

Shutt said he also talked to a few area schools such as Lindsey Wilson and considered going to Western Kentucky and just focusing on academics before he decided on Florida College.
“There wasn’t much consideration,” Shutt said. “The time and effort it will take to play soccer, especially at the next level, was something that I realized would be really rough. It was a good fit for me.”
Shutt said familiarity with the school also helped with his decision. South Warren graduate Drew Hull has played the last two seasons at Florida College. Shutt’s brother, Ryan, also went to school at Florida College, graduating last year. Ryan did not play soccer, but knew Florida coach Matthew Evans.
Shutt served as the backup for the Gators, recording one shutout. Greenwood finished 12-7-1, losing to South Warren in the District 14 Tournament.
