The Bowling Green football team held their awards banquet for the 2009 season on Sunday.

Award winners for the Purples included: Jay Beard (Monie Beard Leadership Award), Lavance Anderson (Most Valuable Player), Josh Blaine (Jimmy Bailey 110 percent Award), Sam Howard (Big Play Award), Franco Irvin (Junior Cup), Will Porter (Offensive Prep Award), Trae Alexander (Defensive Prep Award) and Tanner Hall Bob Lawless Academic Award.

Alfred Gilbert was also named Associated Press All-State first team while Howard was named to the second team. Anderson was named to the Bluegrass Preps All-State Team.
