Police are seeking help identifying who stole a stump grinder that has since been recovered.
The grinder was recovered Dec. 24 at the Hands Club at 746 Beech St., said Officer Barry Pruitt, spokesman for the Bowling Green Police Department.
“The grinder was sitting on the property covered by a tarp, but no one there had any idea how it had gotten there,” he said.
The stump grinder, valued at $25,000, is a large piece of equipment that would be difficult to move without someone seeing it, Pruitt said.
The grinder, along with a chainsaw and other tools that have not been recovered, were stolen Nov. 19 from a vehicle parked at Motel 6 at 3139 Scottsville Road.
The stump grinder has been returned to its owner, but the department still wants to find out who stole it, Pruitt said.
