David W. Cooksey

David W. Cooksey, 79, of Bowling Green died Nov. 2, 2008, at a Bowling Green nursing home.
The Warren County native was born June 13, 1929. He was a longstanding member of Lehman Avenue Church of Christ, a former city alderman in Bowling Green and a member of Bowling Green Masonic Lodge No. 73 F&AM. He was also a member of the Shrine, a graduate of College High, a retired employee for the Highway Department, a district sales representative with Wayne Supply Co. for more than 20 years and a sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a son of the late Herschel Cooksey and Gladys Mayfield Cooksey. He was preceded in death by a son, Dan Cooksey; and a brother, Richard Cooksey.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Cooksey of Hollis, N.H.; three grandchildren, Justin Spitz, Darrien Spitz and J.D. Cooksey; and two nieces, Judi Cooksey Roach and Carole Cooksey Springer.
