POLICE NEWS: BG woman, 21, killed after being hit by car

A 21-year-old Bowling Green woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night on Cumberland Trace Road.

Emily Stevens was walking in the middle of the road at 10:09 p.m. in the 2500 block of Cumberland Trace Road when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Jeremy Langston, 16, of Bowling Green, who was traveling south, according to a Warren County Sheriff’s Office report.

Stevens was taken to The Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to the report.

The accident is still under investigation, according to the report.

Arrest — Michael B. Flora, 21, 1610 Patrick Way, was charged with second-degree assault at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday at 1776 Patrick Way Apt. 4.

Flora and some friends had gone to the apartment to see Flora’s girlfriend. At some point Flora became angry with the victim, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report.

Flora is accused of stabbing the victim in the back, causing a 3.5 cm deep cut, according to the report.

Flora’s girlfriend, Marchea J. Boyd, 26, was charged with tampering with physical evidence at 3:26 p.m. Wednesday. After the stabbing, Flora told police he had given Boyd the knife, according to the report.

Boyd initially stated she did not know anything about a knife, but later told police she had put the knife in a garbage bag, according to the report.

Flora is at the Warren County Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond. Boyd is being held on $5,000 bond.

Arrest — Michael G. Wilson Jr., 29, 1309 Broadview Way, was charged with theft by unlawful taking-auto at 9:02 p.m. Southern Lanes at 2710 Scottsville Road, according to a city police report.

Wilson is accused of stealing his father’s vehicle, according to the report.

He is being held without bond.

Criminal mischief — There was 500 feet of underground copper cable valued at $3,500 damaged between July 21 and Monday at Lovers Lane and Airport Drive, according to a city police report.

The wire was cut but not stolen. It appeared the person who cut the wire planned to return at a later time to steal it, according to the report.

Burglary — A television valued at $300 was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Dean Drive, according to a city police report.

Theft — A global positioning system, five CD cases and 120 CDs valued at $740 were stolen between 3:30 p.m. July 22 and 8:45 a.m. July 23 in the 1000 block of Shive Lane, according to a city police report.

Theft — A bicycle valued at $550 was stolen between 8 a.m. July 30 and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Whitecotton Drive, according to a city police report. The bicycle was kept in an unlocked storage shed.

Theft — Three bicycles valued at $325 were stolen between 11 p.m. July 23 and 10 a.m. July 24 in the 1000 block of Clay Street, according to a city police report.

Theft — Two fuel tanks were taken from a truck between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. today in the 2500 block of Russellville Road, according to a city police report. The tanks and fuel were valued at $305.
