Businessman faces felony assault charge

A Bowling Green club owner and businessman was charged with assault in Auburn after allegedly sending an Auburn man to the hospital.

Craig A. Eversoll, 43, 347 Calumet Way, was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal trespassing at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday in connection with an incident that occurred at the injured man’s home in the 600 block of West Main Street in Auburn.

Eversoll is the owner of The Deuce, Froggy’s Pizza, Goodtymes 2, The Basement and The Brewing Company in Bowling Green.

The man was taken after the altercation to The Medical Center in Bowling Green with severe injuries to his face, eyes and nose, according to an arrest citation from the Auburn Police Department. The man was treated and released.

Eversoll was released the same day he was arrested after posting a $50,000 unsecured bond.

The bond conditions forbid Eversoll from having any contact with the man, according to the bond.

Auburn Police Chief Scott Harmon said he could not provide a copy of the longer report of the incident because the case remains under investigation.

Harmon also said he could not comment beyond the citation report. Police did not provide any information about what might have caused the altercation.

Eversoll, when contacted by phone, declined to comment. The injured man’s phone number is not listed.

Eversoll’s arraignment is scheduled in Logan District Court at 1 p.m. April 9.
