Margaret Christene Cowles, 66, of Bowling Green died May 12, 2005, at her residence.

The Warren County native was a retired assistant crew leader for Fruit of the Loom for more than 38 years and a charter member of Delafield Church of Christ. She was a daughter of the late Eugene Phelps and Viola Jordan Phelps. She was preceded in death Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Rayburn Cowles; a daughter, Belinda Owens and her husband, Steve, of Bowling Green; a son, Danny Ray Cowles of Bowling Green; two granddaughters, Jennifer Michele and Amanda Renee Owens, both of Bowling Green; five sisters, Shirley Minton, Mary Meadors and her husband, William, Thelma Wurst and her husband, Raymond Shorty Wurst Sr., and Faye McKinley, all of Bowling Green, and Betty Mooneyhan and her husband, Ronnie, of Forest, Va.; four brothers, Kenneth Phelps and his wife, Iva Dean, Adam Phelps, Clayburn Phelps and his wife, Freida, and William Phelps and his wife, Brenda, all of Bowling Green; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
