A Russellville man was killed Friday in a collision on the Purchase Parkway near Interstate 24 in Marshall County.James G. Kerstiens, 21, was pronounced dead at Marshall County Hospital.Kerstiens was traveling north on the Purchase Parkway on Friday afternoon when he apparently began to pass a vehicle but didnt see a vehicle beside him in the left lane.He then saw the vehicle and swung to the right and then overcorrected to the left. He lost control of his vehicle, which crossed the median and struck a GMC Suburban driven by Pierce Meir, 16, of Benton. Meir was transported along with a passenger, George McKenzie, 15, also of Benton, to the Marshall County Hospital. A condition report on the two was unavailable.Kerstiens wasnt wearing a seat belt.
