The World’s Greatest Studio Tour & Sale November 6 & 7

On November 6th & 7th, 2010, the public will be invited to a lively event of visual arts. Over 34 of the area’s leading artists at 18 unique locations will open their studios to the public. This eleventh annual event will allow the public to meet the artists in a casual setting, and see their most recent pieces.

Original Ceramics, Collages, Drawings, Hand-Pulled Prints, Jewelry, Paintings, Photographs, Quilts, Stained Glass, Sculpture, Silk Paintings, Fresco Painting , Wood Works, Floor Pain tings,  Furniture, Metal Working, Notecards and Weavings will be shown.

The public will be able to buy directly from the artists, and many will have their materials available to discuss and demonstrate their processes.

The artists have exhibited extensively regionally and nationally, and include award winning, independent studio artists, and art educators from the elementary school level through University classes. The artwork will range from traditional to contemporary approaches.

A portion of the proceeds of artists’ sales will benefit visual arts in the community. Past recipients include Bowling Green Public Library, Capitol Arts Alliance, Lifeskills, WKU and the local Red Cross.

Artists will show in Bowling Green, & Alvaton, Kentucky.  Maps to the various sites will be available at The Capitol Arts Center and at other studio locations along the tour route.

The maps will allow the viewers to pick their own routes, and spend as much time as they like at the varied studio locations during the two-day event.

SIGNS WILL BE POSTED throughout the area to guide visitors to the various sites.

The tour takes place Saturday, November 6th, 10:00am – 5:00pm and Sunday, November 7th, 1:00pm – 5:00pm Central Time.  ADMISSION IS FREE!!! Refreshments will also be available at many of the sites.
