Wings of Wonder by Cincinnati Zoo at State Park on April 10
The Arts Guild of the Barrens is pleased to announce that the Wings of Wonder program offered by the Cincinnati Zoo is coming to Barren River State Resort Park on Saturday, April 10. This program, originally scheduled to take place in January, was cancelled due to a winter storm.
There are two parts of this program. The first will take place from 10am-10:45am in the Thistle Room at the Park. It is an education session taught by Ed Annal, bird trainer. He will share information about the Hyacinth Macaw, Amazon Parrot, Kookaburra, and Bespectacled Owl. The birds will be with Ed as he makes his presentation. This presentation is free to the public and is for all ages; however, seating is limited to the first thirty people that make a reservation. Call the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce at 270-651-3161 to reserve a spot.
The second part of this program is an Artist Workshop that begins at noon and ends at 2:00pm. The birds, along with their trainer, will join the artists in the Thistle Room and will serve as models as the artists paint, sketch, sculpt or take photos. The registration fee is $20 for artists ages sixteen and over.
Pre-registration is required. Registration forms are available at the Chamber or can be sent by e-mail. Call the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce at 270-651-3161 for information.
Artists must bring their own equipment and easels. Flash photography is not allowed at either session.
