Wendy’s gets hit by early morning robber

No one was injured Wednesday during an armed robbery at Wendy’s on Russellville Road, according to a company official.

Bayne Million, chief marketing officer with Wendy’s of Bowling Green, said the robbery happened about 5:30 a.m. after the restaurant opened. Million described the robber as a tall, white male wearing a hoodie and sunglasses. He said the robber pulled through the drive-through, ordered, paid and then parked before entering the building.

The robbery was at gunpoint, Million said, but employees complied and were not harmed. Million wasn’t sure how much money was taken or what type of gun was used.

Bowling Green Police Department officers are investigating the incident, spokesman Ronnie Ward told the Daily News. Ward was also unsure about the type of gun used but said police will review video of the incident along with video from surrounding businesses.

Arrests — The Logan County Sheriff’s Department arrested three juveniles and two adults after investigating vehicle burglaries July 25-26 in the Auburn area. The arrests follow a Facebook image of three local juveniles holding a handgun that the department received.

Damian J. Calloway, 18, of Franklin, was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center. It’s not clear when arrests were made. Calloway is charged with one count of theft of a firearm and multiple charges of theft by unlawful taking under $500.

Calloway and a 16-year-old juvenile are accused of entering unlocked vehicles in the Auburn area on Rogers Drive, Sunset Drive, Bellaire Drive, Circle Drive and Roosevelt Street. An incident report claims they stole a GPS, cellphone, loose change, knives, a bicycle and a .25 caliber handgun. Most items were recovered, including the gun that two other 17-year-old juveniles possessed.

The 16-year-old is charged with one count of theft of a firearm and two counts of possession of a handgun by a minor along with with other theft charges. The 17-year-old juveniles face one count of receiving stolen property and two counts of possession of a handgun by a minor.

The second adult, Tyra S. Hubbard, 18, of Russellville, is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property under $500 after selling two items, which police say were stolen, to local pawn shops.
