Host Warren East sweeps All-Comers meet

Host Warren East swept Thursday’s All-Comer’s Meet, with the Lady Raiders tallying 144 points and the Raiders scoring 137 to win their respective six-team competitions.

In the girls’ meet, Warren East’s Tanaya Bailey and Emma Steff both won multiple individual events. Bailey took first in both the 100-meter dash (13.78 seconds) and 200 (29.36) and Steff won the 1,600 (5:43.47) and 3,200 (13:02.46).

Also for the Lady Raiders, Allie Hendrick won the high jump (4-08) and Rylee Fansler won the pole vault (8-00). Bailey and Hendrick joined Natalie Hix and Haley Elrod on Warren East’s first-place 400 relay (54.54).

South Warren’s girls took second with 125 points, followed by Greenwood (117), Butler County (82), Apollo (36) and Franklin-Simpson (23).

The Spartans’ Molly Elder was first in the long jump (15 feet, 8.50 inches) and triple jump (32-06.50). South Warren’s Isabelle Graves, Haylee White, Lucy Knutson and Megan Kitchens combined to win the 3,200 relay (10:57.14). The Spartans’ Kate Chiddister, Leah Guelde, Lilly Deganhart and Andrea Lenoir won the 800 relay (1:54.93).

Greenwood’s Ashlyn McGehee won both the discus (92-06) and shot put (31-05), and Kelsey Dinning won the 800 (2:32.15) and joined Erin Heltsley, Amaya Salvador and Callie Strode on the Lady Gators’ first-place 1,600 relay (4:26.24).

Butler County got individual wins from Kierra Neighbors in the 100 hurdles (18.26) and 300 hurdles (53.45), and Hannah Whittinghill in the 400 (1:07.26).

In the boys’ meet, Warren East got individual wins from Eric Oviedo-Nevarez in the 110 hurdles (17.49), Dalton Sledge in the pole vault (8-00) and Jackson Harrell in the triple jump (42-01). The Raiders’ Trevor Naftel, Trebor Bunton, Greg Barnes and Samuel Perdue combined to win the 800 relay (1:40.59). Harrell, Naftel, Jastin Proctor and Brevon Whitney teamed to win the 400 relay (45.03).

South Warren’s boys’ team finished second with 116 points, followed by Apollo (109), Greenwood (86), Butler County (53) and Franklin-Simpson (37).

For the Spartans, Marcus Elmore won both the 200 (24.19) and long jump (20-08.75), Kyle Woodward won the 1,600 (4:48.53) and Luke Spurrier took first in the 800 (2:05.22). Spurrier and Woodward joined Carter Chavira and Peter Furgal on South Warren’s first-place 3,200 relay (8:35.26).

Greenwood’s Josh Clemons won the discus (99-01) and Bradley Herman won the shot put (42-05.50). Butler County’s Cortez Cook took first in the 400 (53.59). Franklin-Simpson’s Kane Newland won the 100 (11.87) and Sadontavious Rickman tied for first in the high jump (5-08).

SKY Conference meet

Bowling Green swept Tuesday’s SKY Conference meet at South Warren as the Purples scored 136.5 points to win the boys’ competition and the Lady Purples tallied 148 to claim the girls’ title.

In the boys’ meet, Bowling Green’s John Downing won both the 110 hurdles (17.70) and 300 hurdles (44.34). Other individual winners for the Purples were DeVito Tisdale in the 100 (12.02), Jarius Key in the 400 (52.53) and Deshawn Crowe in the 800 (2:05.11).

Warren East took second in the boys’ meet with 114 points, followed by Greenwood (104), South Warren (92.5), Logan County (61), Butler County (52), Warren Central (49), Franklin-Simpson (29) and Russellville (19).

The Raiders got individual wins from Samuel Perdue in the high jump (5-10), Jackson Harrell in the triple jump (43-11.50) and Matt Mellencamp in the discus (121-05). Harrell joined Jastin Proctor, Brevon Whitney and Trevor Naftel in East’s first-place 400 relay (45.05).

Michael Hathaway accounted for both of Greenwood’s first-place finishes with wins in the long jump (18-04.75) and shot put (38-04.00).

South Warren’s Carter Chavira won both the 1,600 (4:43.24) and 3,200 (9:57.29). Chavira teamed with Peter Furgal, Luke Spurrier and Kyle Woodward on the Spartans’ winning 3,200 relay (8:42.61). South Warren’s Joshua Bumps, Gage Haggerty, Clayton Bush and Marcus Elmore won the 800 relay (1:36.55).

Logan County’s Gage Cousineau, Reggie Powell, Sawyer Hopkins and Evan Hughes combined to win the 1,600 relay (3:43.63). Franklin-Simpson’s Austin McGee took first in the 200 (25.08).

For the Lady Purples, Kristin Dent won both the 800 (2:31.94) and 1,600 (5:42.47). Dent also joined Bella Elder, Grace Klusty and Erica Smith on Bowling Green’s winning 1,600 relay (4:38.78).

The Lady Purples’ Jasmine Varner won the 300 hurdles (50.33) and teamed with Klusty, Z’Nyah Owens and Bailee Woods on Bowling Green’s winning 400 relay (52.76). Laila Robinson added a win for the Lady Purples in the high jump (5-00).

South Warren’s girls took second with 114 points, followed by Greenwood (101), Warren East (86), Butler County (49), Warren Central (45), Logan County (37), Graves County (30), Franklin-Simpson (17) and Russellville (15).

Molly Elder picked up the Spartans’ lone individual win in the triple jump (32-00.00). South Warren’s Lucy Knutson, Isabelle Graves, Haylee White and Megan Kitchens won the 3,200 relay (10:48.33).

Greenwood’s Carly Miller won the shot put (28-07) and Ashlyn McGehee won the discus (87-08).

Warren East picked up wins from Tanaya Bailey in the 100 (13.55) and Emma Steff in the 3,200 (13:06.57).

Warren Central’s Tiffany Taylor, Ariana Simmons, Amiyah Davis and Jaida Tooley teamed to win the 800 relay (1:53.42).

Logan County’s Meredith Johnson won the 400 (1:04.69).
