Current job title: Retired administrator, Warren County Public Schools; board chairman, Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department; vice chairman, Service One Credit Union Board of Directors; vice president, Warren County Retired Teachers Association; board member, Car Seat Safety Matters; and farmer.
Hometown: Bowling Green.
Family: Girlfriend Annell Browning, daughter Elizabeth, son Joseph, son-in-law Scott and grandson Sawyer.
The one thing no one knows about me is … I love working on the farm. I especially like using the chainsaw to cut wood and clean up the fields.
My dream job is (was) … working in Warren County Public Schools for 35 years. I enjoyed helping the students, parents and staff. My current dream job is baby-sitting my grandson three days a week!
My first job was … working at Holley Carburetor. I worked at the end of the line sorting the carburetors to be shipped to the warehouse.
The best advice I ever got was … to be respectful and helpful to people. I have always tried to follow that advice.
My hero (and why) is … there are so many people who have been heroes in my life. It’s hard to name one individual. I do want to recognize our volunteer firefighters. These men and women go through countless hours of training and planning to protect our community. They are often the first responders to emergencies when we dial 911. I am truly grateful for their service as well as the other first responders (police and EMS) in our community.
If I could do it all over again, I … would not change a thing. God has and continues to bless me!
The part of my job I could do without is … since I’m retired, there is really nothing that I would give up! I love everything that I am doing.
The one thing I always carry with me is … the love and joy I have for my family!
Best meal I ever had was … every Thanksgiving when my family gets together. We always have more food than we can eat! It’s a great time of fellowship!
At the top of my bucket list is … to purchase a new tractor for the farm!
