Warren Central beats Hart County for first win this season
Ethan Harrod pitched a complete game Monday and earned Warren Central’s first win of the season with a 10-1 victory against Hart County. Harrod struck out eight batters and only allowed three hits without issuing a walk.
The Dragons (1-20) attacked Hart County with nine hits, getting two apiece from Jordan Lindsey and JM Lyle. Warren Central never trailed after tagging on two early runs in the top of the first.
Central scored two runs on passed balls in the fifth and RBI singles from Lindsey and Noah Thornberry. Warren Central added three more runs in the top of the seventh for the nine-run victory. The Dragons host Allen County-Scottsville at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Greenwood 3,
Warren East 1
Greenwood grabbed an early lead and held on for the 3-1 victory at Warren East on Monday. Nate Cunningham went six innings and allowed just three hits and Mac Ausbrooks closed the final inning on seven pitches.
Cunningham struck out six batters and gave up one earned run on Matt Alford’s RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning. Greenwood added an insurance run off an error in the seventh inning.
Ausbrooks lined a two-run double into right field in the top of the second to push Greenwood out to a 2-0 lead.
The Gators took Raiders’ starter Ryan Hawks for seven hits. Hawks registered seven strikeouts and walked three batters in seven innings on the mound.

Warren East 5,
Grayson County 2
Kendall Smith hit two home runs to help the Lady Raiders defeat Grayson County 5-2. Smith homered in the bottom of the first and a double from Jeyda Bays pushed Warren East in front 3-1 after one inning.
Smith added another homer later to make it a 4-2 lead. The Western Kentucky signee now has 11 home runs this season.
Katie Gardner threw 14 strikeouts against Grayson County.
