Wake up, Bowling Green! The winter is over and southcentral Kentucky is finally starting to see some color – the green grass, yellow daffodils, and, of course, pretty blue and purple bruises as the ladies of Vette City Roller Derby gear up for their 2011 Season Opener. This double-header is guaranteed to shake those winter doldrums and keep you on the edge of your seat!

• WHO: Vette City Vixens vs. Chattanooga and Bowling Green Hot Broads vs. Gem City (Dayton, OH)
• WHEN: Saturday, April 2
• TIME: Doors open at 4 p.m., first bout begins at 5 p.m.
• WHERE: The Skate Box, 506 Three Springs Road
• TICKETS: $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Kids 10 and under free. Available from your favorite rollergirl or at these fine local businesses: Greener Groundz, Skin Deep Tattoo, Great Escape Records and Comics, Spencer’s Coffeehouse, and Asphalt Beach (in Nashville)
