A Glasgow woman is dead after a Friday night collision between a truck and a moped on Veterans Outer Loop in Glasgow.

Cassie Blankenship, a passenger on a moped driven by Joseph Ramey of Glasgow, was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

The collision involving a 2010 GMC truck operated by Jacob Montgomery of Glasgow and a moped operated by Ramey occurred on Veterans Outer Loop between West Main Street and Oil City Road. The time of the accident was “near midnight,” according to Glasgow Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Terry Flatt.

A news release from Flatt said Ramey was transported by the Barren/Metcalfe EMS ambulance service to T.J. Samson Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Montgomery was not injured.
