sHOw Modular Model Railroad Club of Southern KY Show and sale

Saturday February 20th, the sHOw Modular Model Railroad Club of Southern KY will host a model train show and sale at the historic L&N Depot from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Though the club features only modules using the HO scale, this event will represent all model scales with over 50 dealer’s booths featuring equipment, supplies, books, memorabilia, crafts, toys and more.  According to event organizer Kevin Comer, “This is the largest model train sale between Louisville and Nashville.”

Admission is $2 for the show and participants can tour the Historic Railpark and Train Museum at a discounted rate.

Just outside the museum, in the gift shop area trains on the permanent modular display will be running.  The 20×30 foot display features a replica of Bowling Green area tracks and surrounding buildings and landscape as it was from 1925-1965.  A work in progress, according to club founder and President John Warren Oakes, recent additions to the model include the Axe Handle Facorty, St. Joseph Church and the river operations.

The sHOw Modular Model Railroad Club of Southern KY began in 1993.  Since 2000, the club has won three Best of Show and one Second Prize in the Great American Train Show at Nashville , Tennessee.  The sHOw Club also hosts the Festival of Trains annually at the L&N Depot, and sets up their modular layout in Park City at the summer festival, and during Auburn’s Auburn Days celebration.  There are currently 35 active members.
