New health and fitness expo slated Saturday

The Kentucky Grand Hotel will debut the Bowling Green Health & Fitness Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center.

The free expo will feature a diverse range of health, wellness and fitness-related businesses along with music, drawings and family-friendly activities.

“We want to provide a one-stop shop for people in Bowling Green and surrounding areas to learn all the different places to expand upon their knowledge of the health and fitness (offerings) in the city,” said Jenna Townsend, event coordinator for the Kentucky Grand Hotel. “It’s going to be an annual health and fitness expo.”

Several dozen vendors with services ranging from pilates to pediatric dentistry had signed up by last week, including Barre Company, Be Happy Yoga & Salt Cave, Bowling Green Orthotics & Prosthetics, Rock Steady Boxing, Sanctuary Body Spa, Doctors Hearing Center and the Nutrition Center.

“It’s pretty all-encompassing,” Townsend said.

There will also be live music and a beer garden on the balcony of the Kentucky Grand Hotel. Inside SKyPAC, there will be drawings and giveaways of gym memberships and samples “on the hour.”

The Kentucky Grand Hotel is planning to host a few other expos throughout the next year. In the fall, the next expo will feature home, decor and architecture professionals from the area.
