Sixteen: 3 Songs (EP | 2012)

This is a slow grower. It doesn’t stick at first. There are three short songs (only one approaching 3 minutes), abrupt tempo changes, herky-jerky rhythms and melodic hardcore vocals. All the songs are even in the same key. This kind of DIY punk doesn’t usually lend itself to humming along. Nevertheless, before you realize it, Sixteen’s songs get under your skin.

This holy noise is produced by two people, ladies and gentlemen. TWO. It’s just the sort of thing Brett Gurewitz would love to get his hands on. Sixteen, if you’re reading, send your material to Epitaph Records (http://www.epitaph.com/about/submit/). You can both thank me later.

This is Sixteen’s third EP and it’s available (name your price) at http://sixteenky.bandcamp.com/. Send a local band some love.
