Service One Credit Union will have its third annual community shred day from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 22 at its branch at 1609 Campbell Lane where people can safely destroy confidential paper documents. 

Service One is asking for a minimum contribution of $5 to benefit The Center for Courageous Kids, a Scottsville-based non-profit center which supports children with life-threatening illnesses.

Paper disposal services will be provided by Land Shark Shredding. Disposal and destruction of electronic devices such as old computers will also be available for a nominal fee.
