Man robbed at gunpoint in IGA parking lot
A man told the Bowling Green Police Department he was robbed by two people at gunpoint in the parking lot of IGA near Mt. Victor Lane on Friday afternoon, Bowling Green police Officer Ronnie Ward said.
The victim complied with the robbers’ demands, Ward said.
The two robbers left. One robber is a man and he displayed a gun and was accompanied by a woman. He is described as a black man who is 6 feet tall with a slender build and short, spiky hair. The woman was wearing a red shirt, red pants and is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slender build. They left in a maroon Dodge van toward Interstate 65.
BGPD responded after being called at 3:54 p.m. The robbers have not been caught.
Shots fired — At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, Glasgow Police Department officers responded to a call of shots fired into a residence on West Washington Street.
No one was injured and the suspects left the area prior to police arrival, according to a news release from the Glasgow Police Department.
Officers later arrested Jeffrey D. Riley, 19, of Glasgow, according to the release. As a result of the arrest, officers obtained a search warrant for Riley’s home and found a stolen .357 handgun believed to have been used in the shooting. Police also said they found illegal drugs and money, according to the release.
Riley is charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property (firearm), third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, trafficking a controlled substance, trafficking marijuana, possession of a drug paraphernalia and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
Missing man found dead — A man reported missing Sunday was found dead at 7:12 a.m. Friday near the 2900 block of Rochester Road in Butler County.
Kentucky State Police were called to a single-vehicle wreck at that location Friday. When troopers arrived on the scene they found Robin Hudnall, 52, of Rochester, deceased. He had been driving a 1992 Oldsmobile east on Rochester Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, according to a release from Kentucky State Police. His vehicle went off the left side of the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.
Hudnall was pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County Coroner, and an autopsy will be performed in Louisville by the medical examiner’s office. Hudnall had been reported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office as missing at 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
The investigation is ongoing.
Robbery — On Tuesday, a man told Bowling Green police he was robbed while walking in Pedigo Park.
The victim told police he was approached by two men who asked him if he had any cigarettes or knew where they could find some women. The victim told the men he didn’t have what they were looking for and the men turned around and left.
A few minutes later he was struck by something and fell to the ground. He reached to get his cellphone and realized it was gone along with his wallet. Police noted that the victim had facial injuries consistent with a pavement burn. He was taken to The Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and was unable to give police a description of who hit him other than the men he had talked to just prior to being assaulted, according to police records.
The investigation remains open.
Criminal mischief — A vandal or vandals spray painted racial slurs on the walls of a men’s bathroom at Preston Miller Park.
A parks employee reported the vandalism Monday. The damage will cost $2,500 to repair. The investigation remains open.
Attempted burglary — The front door and doorframe of the Riverview Hobson House, a museum, were reported damaged Wednesday, according to BGPD records.
Police entered the museum home to make sure that no one was inside. An employee said an inventory would have to be conducted to determine if anything was stolen. However, it did not immediately appear as though anything had been taken.
