Art is a Jewel of Many Facets

Art is a Jewel of Many Facets is an art exhibit featuring the works of David Lamont and Melanie Sunshine Smith. The show reflects that art is not just paintings but takes many creative forms such as the bas relief sculptures, collages, and tapestry weavings appearing in the show.

Mr. Lamont is a graphic/fine artist from Cypress, TX. He holds a degree in Graphic Art and has traveled and shown extensively. He likes to recreate contemporary images of historical and ancient artifacts utilizing modern materials with sculpting/painting techniques from ages past.

Ms. Smith is from Midway, KY and earned her degree in art from WKU. Her tapestry weavings, pen and inks, and paintings are inspired by music and nature. She has been influenced by the music of Bach and Beethoven to the jivin’ of Jazz.

There will be a closing reception on Friday, Aug. 13, 5-8 pm in conjunction with the third 2010 Bowling Green Gallery Hop. The public is welcome to view the art during the week and at the reception. The Gallery may be entered from the 10th Street entrance of the church.

The exhibit runs July 1 – August 13 at The Presbyterian Church Gallery, 10th and State Sts. Bowling Green, KY.
