Penick’s one-hit shutout leads Cougars to baseball win

Sophomore Dylan Penick fired a complete-game, one-hit shutout to lead host Logan County to a 4-0 baseball win Saturday over visiting Ohio County in Russellville.

Penick allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out nine for the Cougars.

Kaleb Justice, Austin Rayno, Jackson Campbell and Penick each drove in a run for Logan County (3-0), which totaled seven hits. Jack Wright had a double for the game’s only extra-base hit.

The Cougars return to action Thursday at home against Bowling Green. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
