Banks to lead Novelis plant in Todd County
Novelis Inc. has named Paul Banks as plant manager for the recently announced $300 million automotive aluminum sheet manufacturing facility in Guthrie. Banks previously served as unit manager at Logan Aluminum, a Novelis joint venture in nearby Logan County.
With more than 25 years of experience in the aluminum rolling industry, Banks will oversee construction and development of the facility in Todd County as Novelis prepares the site to safely ramp up production for automotive customers. As plant manager, Banks will be responsible for building a team of about 125 employees to operate the facility and establish important partnerships for Novelis with local business, government and community leaders.
Slated to break ground in May and open in 2020, Novelis’ Guthrie facility will include heat treatment and pre-treatment lines, which prepare aluminum for use in vehicle parts such as body-in-white, hoods, doors, lift gates and fenders.
