WKU scoring drought continues in loss to North Texas

Western Kentucky failed to score a goal yet again Sunday, falling 1-0 to North Texas at the WKU Soccer Complex.

The Lady Toppers (3-7-1 overall, 0-3-1 Conference USA) haven’t scored a goal since a 4-1 win against Evansville on Sept. 3. North Texas (7-2-2, 2-0-1) was the sixth consecutive opponent to shut out WKU.

The Mean Green’s Taylor Torres scored the match’s only goal 43:50 into the first half.

The teams combined for just seven shots on goal. WKU’s Sarah Gorham, Nicole Roseland and Shayna Dheel accounted for one shot on goal each.

The Lady Toppers face Middle Tennessee at 7 p.m. Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn.{&end}
