Class of ’18 DT Sy commits to WKU

Western Kentucky picked up its third Class of 2018 football commitment in just more than 24 hours Saturday night.

Nazir Sy, a defensive tackle from Norcross (Ga.) High School, announced late Saturday on Twitter that he’d committed to the Hilltoppers.

Sy’s pledge came one day after Florida safety Arthur Brathwaite and hours after South Carolina offensive tackle Gunner Britton both committed to WKU.

Sy (6-foot-2, 326 pounds) is rated a three-star recruit by 247 Sports Composite and ranked No. 1,205 overall in the Class of 2018, No. 84 among defensive tackles in the class and No. 118 among Georgians in the class.

Sy also holds reported scholarship offers from East Carolina, Georgia State, Memphis, Tulane and Wisconsin.

Sy joins Spencer Gaddis, Tre Leslie and Jayden Patterson as the fourth Georgia native in the class. He’s the second defensive lineman to commit, joining Tennessee native Sam Stovall.
