Hart inducted into Milwaukee Brewers Wall of Honor

Corey Hart retired as a Milwaukee Brewer on Friday.

Hart, a Bowling Green native who starred at Greenwood High School, was honored by his former Major League team with induction into the Milwaukee Brewers Wall of Honor on Friday, the same day he signed a one-day contract with the franchise to retire as a Brewer.

Hart will have a plaque commemorating his career permanently installed at Miller Park and the team honored him with a pregame ceremony prior to Friday night’s contest against the Miami Marlins.

Hart is the 60th member to join the Wall of Honor since its inaugural class in 2014. A two-time All-Star, Hart spent nine of his 11 Major League seasons with the Brewers, batting .276 with 154 home runs, 508 RBIs and 83 stolen bases in 945 games.

The power-hitting outfielder/first baseman enjoyed five 20-homer seasons in Milwaukee, tied with four others for third-most in franchise history. Among the 38 players who have collected at least 2,000 plate appearances in a Brewers uniform, his .491 slugging percentage ranks sixth all-time.

The Brewers Wall of Honor is a permanent display outside of Miller Park on the North side of the stadium adjacent to the Hot Corner entrance. Honorees on the Wall have a plaque with their photo and a brief synopsis of their career.
