Several local players get all-state honors

Several local players were named to the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches’ Association all-state team Wednesday.

Barren County’s Andy Highbaugh earned a first-team all-state selection. South Warren’s Michael Hicks, a Western Kentucky University signee, earned a second-team all-state selection.

Glasgow’s Dalton Shoemake and Bowling Green’s Ethan Wilson were third-team all-state selections, with Glasgow’s James Kingery an honorable mention.

Hopkinsville’s Easton McGee, a fourth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Rays, was named Mr. Baseball.
