Class of ’18 safety Brathwaite commits to WKU

Western Kentucky picked up its eighth Class of 2018 football commitment Friday courtesy of Arthur Brathwaite, a safety.

Brathwaite (6-foot, 180 pounds) is a Hollywood, Fla., native who’s going into his senior season at Miami Central High School. He was recruited by offensive line coach Geoff Dartt.

Brathwaite is rated a three-star recruit by 247 Sports Composite and ranked No. 1,348 overall in the Class of 2018, No. 103 among safeties in the class and No. 212 among Florida natives in the class.

Brathwaite also has reported scholarship offers from Appalachian State, Colorado State, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Mississippi State, Ohio, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB, UCF and FCS programs Jackson State and McNeese State.

Brathwaite joins Malik Occuir and Jayden Patterson as defensive backs pledged to WKU’s Class of 2018. He’s the fourth Floridian to commit, joining Patterson, Maurquel Dillard and Troy Ingle.
