New work by Neil Peterie at Memphis Marsha’s
An exhibit entitled Magnolia States: New Work by Neil Peterie will be on display August 12-September 11. “ All of the pictures are simplified enlargements of magnolia cones that I found on the streets during my morning walks. The works represent the physical conditions (“states”) of the cones whether they were green, ripe, or dried.” Peterie said.
Peterie was born in Laredo, MO. He earned degrees from Truman State University and from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Peterie was Professor of Art at Western Kentucky University from 1966-1990, teaching Art Education. His works of art are in over 200 public and private collections.
Reception & Gallery Hop: Friday, August 13, 5-8 pm CT The exhibition continues on regular gallery days, Thursdays-Saturdays, 10-4 CT; or other days & times by appointment. The exhibition, reception, & gallery hop are free & open to the public.
